April 2015 – Winter is 18 months

It has been a while since I’ve posted an update to my blog. Winter is now 18 months and keeps us very busy.  She has such a spunky personality. She’s a huge chatterbox and has no fear of strangers–everyone is her best friend.  She’s growing up–no more bottles, and pacifiers are ONLY used for sleeping. She loves “talking on the phone” all the time.  She is happy 100% of the time unless she is teething, and then she’s a screaming mess. Her hair is getting so long and pretty.  Her main do is pigtails:) She is a cutie and we are in big trouble once boys figure this out.

Milestones: Walking & running, climbing on top of things, climbing ladders, speaking MANY words, helps mommy, has 11 teeth (including 4 molars).

Sleep: Sleeps from 8pm-8am (12 hours) at night.  She takes one midday nap, usually from 12:30-3:30 or 4pm.  She is and always has been a great napper.

Best Moment: So many great moments!  It’s hard to think of something specific.

Worst Moment: Thankfully we’ve had a very good past few months.

Health:  She is growing great and hitting her milestones.  She really has been sick-free all winter long!  The last time she got sick was right after her first birthday.  Besides that, she hasn’t even had a cold.  She does get the occasional low grade teething fever, but I don’t count that as being sick.

Eating:  This girl eats constantly.  We eliminated bottles a few months ago, so now she drinks all her milk in straw or sippie cups.  She loves bread, fruit, milk, green beans, mashed potatoes, tacos, chili, cheese, animal crackers, pouches, peas, applesause, yogurt, etc.  She eats anything.  She’s gotten really good at using a spoon and fork!  She does still throw her sippie cups on the floor to make a statement.

Likes: She loves books & reading.  She loves stuffed animals, especially Mr. Panda and George.  She LOVES when daddy gets home from work–she screams in excitement daily when he walks in the door.  She loves going outside to play.  Loves climbing up the slide and going down by herself.  She likes wagon rides.  Loves animals.  Loves to take showers–she bangs on the door if I take one without her. She loves pushing her babydoll in her toy umbrella stroller.  Loves her “doggy purse” named Daisy.

Favorite words or phrases: Uh-oh, no, Mommy, Daddy, bad dog Koda, cracker.  These are just her favorites.  She talks A LOT and says a lot of words.  I haven’t counted, but I’d guess 30+ words or more.  Her words really boomed at around 15 months.

Dislikes: She hates when it’s time to go inside after playing outdoors. Mommy hates it when she’s teething:(

How Mommy is doing: I’m doing great.  Loving being a mom and proud of Winter.  She’s such a joy in my life.  I ran another half marathon on March 1st and will be running a 9K race on Mother’s Day in a few weeks.  In March, I celebrated my 29th birthday while on our first babyless vacation to Cancun, Mexico.  Eric and I had a great time and Winter enjoyed spending time with Grandpa and Grandma.mommyracewinterpig
